FLASHOVER AWARENESS
The firefighter of today faces many dangers that previous generations of firefighters never encountered. Of these many "new" dangers, none is potentially more deadly than the modern fire environment itself. The Flashover Training Program at Coral Springs Fire Academy incorporates a dynamic, up to date lecture with an innovative training prop to teach Firefighters what they MUST know in order to prevent being caught in and possibly killed by the deadly phenomenon known as FLASHOVER.

The program will provide the students with a working definition and understanding of flashover. It will explain the common signs of impending flashover and how to help maintain a tenable environment for aggressive interior firefighting operations. The program will discuss the modern fire environment and factors within the environment that influence flashover. The course will also address the benefits and limitations of modern personal protective equipment. This program is a must for anyone involved with interior firefighting operations.

Candidates will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successfully completing the program.
